Crispy Rosemary Potato Wedges

On the night of April 1st, Nairobi and much of central Kenya received its first rain after the beautiful sunny months of Dec-Jan-Feb-Mar. There was no transition, just abrupt rain with the close of March. Being someone who lives for and thoroughly enjoys the dry months and the intense heat everyone complains about, I sadly welcomed April rains and already started looking forward to December. But I remembered how I pointed out in this post that I will be more thankful for everything and indeed, there is plenty to be thankful about even in grey, rainy April. Even as mango season is now behind us, I am happy that pear season is rolling in. Even as the warm sunny weather I love is gone, I am thankful that the air is clear and its green all around. Even though I can’t enjoy my flirty skirts, at least now I can rock my thigh high boots (ladies do you feel me?!!). There is always something to be thankful for.

For today, I am giving you yet another potato wedge recipe that will warm your heart and fill your tummy in the rainy days ahead.

Plum and Orange Mocktail

After a week of unusual January Rains, the sun is finally out. It is now spectacularly sunny and brilliant in true January fashion. This calls for perfectly chilled drinks that are equally brilliant to cool us down in the midst of this brutal heat. For me, a mocktail is always the answer!

This was inspired by the mocktail bae and I had while we were at Ocean Basket. I tried creating my own, and the flavors were soft and mild yet wildly refreshing.I used fruits that are in season :plum and orange (I am giving mangoes a break :D) Lets soak up the sun and enjoy the best mocktails there are!

Carrot and Grilled Pumpkin Soup

I once heard someone say “If you find yourself talking about the weather on a first date, its time to goooo” LOL Our generation has issues! Anyway, lets talk about the weather. Last week was pretty frigid. I wanted to bump this post and have it earlier but I was too excited about my biryani and tilapia peri peri recipes and decided to stick to how I had originally scheduled my posts. This soup would be perfect for last week’s weather. But as you know with November, the weather is rather unpredictable. Yesterday was beautifully sunny but it could be rainy later this week or today. Today looks like a soup day! This is one recipe you should save for a rainy day ;)).
